Today we're in Derby. We’re delivering the Create Growth Cohort Three. We chose Derby because it's really quite central for the three counties - Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, and Derbyshire. And we're here at the Cosy Club. We like to find places to do these all-day sessions that are interesting for everyone involved.

Deborah Goodall, Co-Director of COI Alliance: 

So it's the first time that we've met the participants of Cohort Three. As part of the process, we've had an onboarding conversation. We've done a scale-up assessment with them to understand their needs and identify areas in their business where they might need a little bit more support. But now is the opportunity to meet them in person and really get that cohort to gel together before we dive into the rest of the programme.

When you run your own business, there's very little time to actually think about where you're going to go and actually plan for that. You have all these ideas about where you would like your business to go, but actually having the time to sit down and think about it and reflect on it—that's particularly what attracted me to today.

So, I've always been interested in the peer-to-peer support and connections. Having something like this is really good for us at the minute to make sure that we've got that plan and structure in place to move to the next level.
