Advertising cookies
We set cookies for advertising or remarketing purposes: enabling us to serve more tailored advertising as well as helping to improve our site for users.
We also use cookies for advertising we serve across the web. The main advertising cookie on non-Google sites is called ‘id’ and it is stored in browsers under the domain doubleclick.net. With the DoubleClick product, a cookie called ‘_gadvertising’ may be set on the domain of the site you are visiting. Unlike cookies that are set on Google's own domains, this cookie can't be read by Google when you're on other sites. It serves purposes such as measuring interactions with the advertising on that domain and preventing the same advertising from being shown to you too many times.
Parts of our website carry Facebook tracking code, known as a 'pixel'. This code tracks the page(s) you have visited on the University's site and passes this to Facebook to inform targeted advertising. This data is anonymous and the University cannot see your name, phone number, email address or any other personal information which could identify you.
The Access Platform
The University of Derby may share your personal data with the Access Platform (TAP) if you interact with the service on our website or through the TAP website. TAP is a third party service provider that provides an online platform to support prospective students in engaging with current students at the University of Derby. To process your personal data when you use The Access Platform service, we will primarily rely on your consent, which will be notified to you at the time.
Depending on how you interact with The Access Platform service, we may also rely on other legal grounds to process your personal data. This includes the University of Derby and The Access Platform’s legitimate interests. For example, the University of Derby or The Access Platform will rely on its legitimate interests to anonymise or aggregate your data or to prevent or detect fraud of The Access Platform service.
