The United Nations department of economic and social affairs have produced goals for sustainable development. The World Federation of Occupational Therapists have also published guiding principles for sustainability in Occupational Therapy practice, education and scholarship. 

As Occupational Therapists we need to be mindful of sustainability within our practice and ensure practice can be underpinned by a focus on sustainability.  Sustainability from both a personal perspective, and from an environmental and professional perspective, is at the heart of the programme; specifically addressing the following Sustainable Development Goals:
