Creative start-up support in Derby video transcript

Today we're in Derby.

We’re delivering the Create Growth Cohort Three.

We chose Derby because it's really quite central for the three counties - Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. And we're here at the Cosy Club.

We like to find places to do these all day sessions that are interesting for everyone involved.

So it's the first time that we've met the participants of Cohort Three.

As part of process, we've had an onboarding conversation.

We've done a scale up assessment with them to understand their needs and identify areas in their business where they might need a little bit more support.

But now is the opportunity to meet them in person and really get that cohort to gel together before we dive into the rest of the program.

When you run your own business, there's very little time to actually think about where you're going to go and actually plan for that.

And you have all these ideas about where you would like your business to go, but actually having the time to sit down and think about it and reflect on it.

That's particularly what attracted me to today.

So I've always been interested in the peer-to-peer support and connections.

So having something like this is really good for us at the minute to make sure that we've got that plan and structure in place to move to the next level.

Being able to turn your passion into a profession, I think, is every creative's dream.

So that's going to make everyone happier.

And the world a better place.

I've really enjoyed just seeing how people from other parts of the creative industries look at their businesses, and it's brilliant getting all that knowledge and information from these lovely people and hopefully putting it into practice real soon.
