Finance for Clearing Applicants

We understand that going to university is a big investment in your future and for some students, cost can be a concern. It’s important to remember that there’s lots of financial support available to help you fund your studies, and of course, we’ll be here to advise you every step of the way.

Applying for student finance

If you’re a UK national or have 'settled status' and normally live in England, you can take out a loan to help cover your annual tuition fees and living expenses. You can do a quick check to see if you qualify for student finance.

Despite coming through Clearing, you don’t need to worry about missing any deadlines – you can apply for your funding at any time up to nine months after the start of your course (i.e. up to May 2025). With that said, we recommend completing your student finance application as soon as you’ve secured your place at the University of Derby so that you receive your funding as soon as possible.
