Discover a world of opportunities for your Key Stage 5 students with our dynamic range of activities and events, both on and off campus!

Our taster days, available as half-day or full-day sessions, are designed to immerse students in their favourite subjects. They'll explore our state-of-the-art facilities and dive deep into exciting subject tasters that bring learning to life.

We also offer talks, interactive masterclasses, and mini-lectures that bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. These sessions showcase cutting-edge projects and challenges our academics are tackling right now.

Whether it’s part of a campus visit, an in-person session at your school or college, or a virtual experience, we’re here to inspire and engage students throughout the year.

Working with Young People and Children Event - 13 May

Suitable for: Education or Health and Social Care students

When: Tuesday 13 May 2025, 10am to 2pm

Where: Kedleston Road, Derby

About: Join us for our Working with Young People and Children event that will enlighten your students about all of the possible career routes related to working with young people and children. Throughout the day, they will be able to explore all of the degree courses that we offer, ranging from Early Childhood Studies to Teacher Training, sparking a passion for their futures.

Let's Get Down to Business - Wednesday 4 June

Suitable for: Business, Marketing, Events Management, Hospitality or Tourism students

When: Wednesday 4 June 2025, 10am to 2:30pm

Where: Kedleston Road, Derby

About: This exciting and interactive day will give Year 12 students an overview of Derby Business School, learning first-hand from staff and students what it is like to study at an internationally recognised business institution. Students will be able to take part in interactive taster sessions, focusing on key strands of business, as well learning more about our New Business School that is due to be open in 2025.

Sound and Music Showcase - Wednesday 4 June

Suitable for: Music, Events Management, Live Events or Engineering students

When: Wednesday 4 June 2025, 10am to 3:30pm

Where: Markeaton Street, Derby

About: Following the success of the inaugural Sound and Music Showcase, this event is back for 2025! Our music academics have teamed up with colleagues from Events Management, and Sound, Light and Live Event Engineering to bring together a full schedule of activities, talks and demonstrations from our academics, current students and industry experts. The showcase will be headlined with a live gig from our Popular Music students at the end of the day.

School of Arts Degree Show - Tuesday 10 June or Wednesday 11 June

Suitable for: Art or Design students

When: Tuesday 10 June or Wednesday 11 June 2025, 10am to 2pm

Where: Markeaton Street, Derby

About: Join us for our Degree Show and explore our exciting 'Made It' Degree Show, showcasing the incredible work of our graduating students, and take part in a taster session. This fun-filled day offers the perfect opportunity to tour our facilities, meet our inspiring staff and students, and immerse you and your students in the creative atmosphere of our campus.
