Academic promo

Academic Promos are designed to highlight a particular member of staff on, for example, on a research page. They have a similar makeup to the standard Promo, but with fewer options.

• Option to automatically pull through staff abstract, image, name, email and link from full profile page

With an academic promo you have the choice to dynamically populate the content. If you select a staff profile in the internal link field by default the name, job title, abstract and thumbnail image square will pull through from the staff profile. If you wish you can use the fields on your content type to overwrite this information. For example if you wanted to use a different image or change the teaser text for a specific use case. 

You are now able to leave the internal link field blank, this allows you to create a custom academic promo. An example of this would be creating a contact style card for a person.

Important

What if your promo isn't showing

For your promo to show you there must be the following fields set either on the staff profile you're linking to or on your content type:

• Title/name
• Teaser text/abstract
• Image

If any of these items are missing, the promo cannot be generated. In addition, in order for an image to be displayed, the staff profile should have a square thumbnail image.

Other contacts field

The other other contacts field allows you to add additional contact details to your promo, but you must format your content in a specific way; separating each detail in a new paragraph and label and value with a dash eg
