Lecturer Adam Hill works at an audio mixing desk in a venue. He attaches cables and shows students how to use the mixing desk. Students attach equipment to a lowered lighting and sound gantry. Adam puts a microphone on a stand on a stage in the centre of the venue. The completed stage has lights and speakers in place on the now raised gantry.

Adam:

I started working as an audio engineer when I was 18 years old. I had to learn quickly. Looking back, I know so much more now, thanks to studying the subject. As an educator, I mix research informed teaching with real world learning. I put ideas to work. Teaching you to think on your feet until everything clicks into place.

[A performer with a guitar plays and sings on stage.]

I teach academic skills that can be directly applied in industry, and when I see my students succeed, nothing makes me prouder.

[Adam and his students are sitting at the mixing desk, smiling]
