Panel Promo

The panel promo is visual promotion component which combines lead text, a call to action button, a foreground and background image. The panel promo sits within the main content wrapper, but using a background container to give the fullbleed effect and is designed to be solely used on the new homepage design.

The foreground image dimensions are fixed and can be used a ratio of 3:4 or 1:1, (in T4 1500x2000 or 2000x2000). The style of the foreground image is a cutout person/object. If the subject of the image reaches the bottom of the 3:4 canvas recommend a fade is applied towards the bottom of the image, either to transparent or to match the background.

No follow

There is a checkbox on the promo called No Follow. This is only to be used if you do not want search engines to follow the link used in your promo. Eg if you're linking to a page that is behind a login. If you're unsure please email digitalsupport@derby.ac.uk.

Image guidance

Background image

• Dimensions are 2560 x 1600px or in ThirdLight use 'Image hero' and crop images as required using the 'Constrain proportions' checkbox
• The panel promo was designed to use a background image, however it you require a plain colour you can upload a 1x1px image of that colour
• All images must be optimised using TinyJPG before uploading to T4

Foreground image

• Recommended dimensions are 1500 x 2000px or 2000 x 2000px 
• Aspect ratio of images must be 3:4 or 1:1
• All images must be optimised using TinyJPG before uploading to T4
