This content type is a visually engaging banner that highlights key content. The design is clean and modern, to incorporate high-quality images and abstract backgrounds, mimicking our prospectus designs.

It is intended for use on top-level or near-top-level pages, to give a visually interesting start to the page.

Key features

• image placed to the right, up to 40% of the banner width
• the image will have a 'play' button overlay if there is an optional video URL link added
• title and short leader text placed on the left
• optional call to action button below text
• optional 'extra text' for other important info to include in the header (for example, Open Day dates)
• optional breadcrumbs
• an abstract background created by blur effects of the image used
• the background colour pattern moves and changes slowly, unless the user has 'reduced motion' settings

Image guidance

• a variety of image sizes can be accommodated, from square to landscape, but as the image only occupies about 40% of the hero width, full-width banner images should be avoided
• images should be chosen carefully in respect of the colours present, as these colours are blurred for the background effect (avoid black and white or very pale images)
• all images must be optimised using TinyJPG before uploading to T4
