Dracula Returns to Derby

In May 1924, at the world premiere at Derby's Grand Theatre, Dracula stepped onto the stage for the first time. He was charming, suave and dressed in a dinner suit and opera cloak, a different vampire to the monster of Bram Stoker’s novel. Dracula Returns to Derby aims to restore the city’s place in the story of the world’s most famous vampire. We are recruiting 'Dracbassadors' to celebrate all the versions of Dracula, from the Derby Dracula to the friendly owner of Hotel Transylvania. If you have an idea for events and creative workshops, we have a Dracula Fund to support them.

Dracula Returns is a conference and celebration marking the 101st anniversary of Dracula’s licensed stage appearance in Derby. We seek papers that explore Dracula's representations, adaptations, related locations and more.
