Colette Lees - Course Leader

Colette has joined Derby as a Senior Lecturer in Strategy & Leadership teaching a range of modules at every level. Her previous academic career includes nine years as a senior lecturer and course director at the Business School, University of Central Lancashire and guest lecturer at various universities.

Alongside her academic career, Colette has a strong business focus and will be involved with the DBS-funded programs including SAIL and Help to Grow. Coupled with the directorship of companies and extensive business experience in corporate, SME & running her own small businesses, her most recent consultancy includes bespoke executive development with senior leaders and their teams in the aerospace detection industry.

Colette’s passion is developing leaders through Emotional Intelligence. She is currently a doctoral student at the University of Southampton, researching Emotional Intelligence & Leadership Development and has been a guest speaker at a range of academic and professional events delivering seminars on Emotional Intelligence for competitive advantage and leader development.
