Compassionate Mind Training for Teachers, Staff and Educators (CMT-TSE)

CPD Overview

In the Compassionate Mind Training for Teachers, Staff and Educators CPD course, we deliver an insightful programme to help those working in educational settings and high burn-out occupations gain a greater understanding of emotions – including emotion regulation in the brain and the body. We also share a variety of compassion-based practices to cultivate emotional well-being.

The course comprises six 90-minute modules designed to be progressed over 8-12 weeks (e.g., one school term or two half terms). Delegates are provided with all course materials (e.g. module materials, practice sheets and audios). Detailed information on course content can be found on our Compassion in Education webpage.

CMT-TSE improves psychological and physiological health as demonstrated through rigorous trial and evaluation of the CPD published in six international peer-reviewed journals. This includes: improved emotion regulation, protection from burnt-out, anxiety and depression, increased compassion towards self and others, improved job satisfaction, improved work-life balance, and better heart and cardiovascular functioning. CMT-TSE, therefore, allows an affordable approach to improving staff well-being, which can improve the immediate environment, and impact the well-being/behaviour of the wider community.

What To Expect

This six-module CPD is effective in enhancing psychological and physiological wellbeing and prosocial behaviours through, firstly, a combination of psychoeducation as to emotion-regulation and compassion; and, secondly, the introduction of evidence-based mind-body imagery and reflective practices.

The six modules you will undertake are:

• Module 1: Compassion, The Nature of Our Minds and Introductory Practices
• Module 2: Understanding Emotions, Mindful Attention and becoming more Compassionate
• Module 3: Building the Compassionate Self and Cultivating the Flows of Compassion
• Module 4: Understanding Different Emotions and Emotion Regulation through Compassion
• Module 5: Understanding (Self) Criticism and Applying a Compassionate Mind
• Module 6: Applying Compassion in Everyday Life

Course Prices

This CPD is costed at £225.00 per individual for online delivery.

For bespoke school/academy/university please contact Professor Frances Maratos to discuss prices. For bespoke delivery, the 6 Module CPD can be delivered in-person, online or a combination of both.

Course Dates

This course will be delivered online over 6 modules. You will need to attend all modules to complete the course. 

The modules will be 1.5 hours (4.15pm until 5.45pm) and are scheduled for:-
