About the course

This initiative improves group functioning, along with feelings of wellbeing and group belonging in FE/HE by embedding the ethos of compassion in the taught curriculum. This pedagogical approach supports students to work more effectively as part of a team and enhances a core employability skill: effective communication. More information can be found on our Compassion in Education webpage.

Now trialled with over 900 undergraduate students, the data shows positive impacts of the approach on: prosocial behaviours; confidence in group work and group communications; and reductions in loneliness. Students note the generalisability of the approach, including improved interactions with those outside of the classroom. CC-FE/HE therefore allows for an affordable approach to support effective student group work, improves the core employability skill of effective communication and enhances feelings of belonging.

Prerequisite: To be eligible to register and enrol on the CC-FE/HE delivery training course, individual’s must have first completed the ½ day Wellbeing in the Workplace (WiW): Emotions, Behaviour and Communication CPD.
