If you are visiting Derby as a group, whether for a conference, special interest meeting or leisure purposes, our halls of residence are an ideal base for your stay.  Our accommodation is a short walk from the city centre but also conveniently close to the University and its conference facilities.  A wide variety of room types and price points are available to suit your specific needs and we can accommodate groups of five or more for visits at different times of the year subject to availability.  If you would like to find out more about our group accommodation service, please complete the Conference Enquiries Form at the bottom of this page.

Ideal location

The accommodation is close to the University’s conference and room hire sites, and the new Cavendish Business School (opening Spring 2025) enabling you to organise a conference or group event with accommodation close by. The city centre is also just a few minutes’ walk from the accommodation ensuring a seamless range of activities for visitors.

Arranged in cluster flats with between three and eight bedrooms and a shared kitchen, our award-winning accommodation is ideal for large or small groups. Choose from ensuite, small double, single and accessible room options. We offer competitive rates with prices starting from £35 a night for ensuite rooms and £30 a night for standard rooms with wash basin and shared bathroom facilities.
