Scholarships for students from India

As a student from India, you could be eligible for one of our scholarships and discounts, which can be used together to offer a reduction in fees during your first year of study. You can apply for our scholarships once you have an offer from us.

You must be applying for a full-time degree. Applications for postgraduate research, online studies, foundation and pre-sessional language programmes are not eligible for a discount or scholarship. Terms and conditions apply.

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT British Campaign, this scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to eligible students from the following countries pursuing one year of postgraduate study at the University of Derby, as part of our September 2025 intake.

A separate application is required through an online form once you have received your offer. Applicants must be from one of the following eligible countries:

General entry requirements

Here you can find details of the general entry requirements if you are from India. If you have specific questions about your qualifications you can contact the international recruitment officer.

  • A minimum of 70% in the Standard XII
  • We will accept English from CBSE, CICSE and Maharashtra boards with a minimum of 75%
  • Bachelors degrees from institutions recognised by NARIC or government recognised institutions
  • Requirements will vary depending on recognition of institution and scoring system used. Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • A score of 60% is considered comparable to a UK 2:1; a score of 50% is considered comparable to a UK 2:2 plus work experience

We accept UKVI or Academic IELTS at the required score for your chosen course, as indicated on the course page. The test must be no older than two years old. We will not be accepting Medium of Instruction evidence for English language.
