Team Derby Performance Swimming

The performance swim programme runs in partnership with Deventio eXcel, Derbyshire's elite swim squad. The squad trains at the new 50m pool at the Moorways Sport Village. Deventio eXcel is one of UK's leading swim programmes producing multiple national and international swimmers, most recently Jacob Whittle who competed at the 2020 Olympic Games aged 16. Other alumni include Molly Renshaw, Abbie Wood, Imogen Clark and Sarah Vasey. 

Programme outline

• Access up to nine swim sessions per week
• Two sport-specific strength and conditioning sessions in the high-performance gym
• Individual screening and testing pre and post-season
• Reduction in monthly swim training fees
• Physiotherapy sessions
• Annual International Camp
• Performance analysis available one-to-one as requested
• Performance sports workshops, including such as the importance of sleep, time management and nutrition
• Individual goal-setting and annual planning
• Entry into BUCS and National championships (Subject to qualification)

• Men’s 200m Backstroke Gold Medal
• Women’s 50m Butterfly fourth place

BUCS National Short Course Championships 2021:

• Women’s 50m Butterfly Silver Medal
• Women’s 100m Butterfly Silver Medal
• Men’s 100m Freestyle fourth place
