Derby's Student Centre rated the best in International Student Barometer UK ranking

The University of Derby’s International Student Centre is the best of all UK universities that participated in the International Student Barometer 2018, which measures international students’ experience of higher education.

Derby also comes out on top in the International Student Barometer (ISB) rankings among the UK Modern Universities group for the formal welcome given to students arriving at the University from overseas, and first among the UK Modern Universities group for multi-cultural learning and faith support.

The International Student Centre at the University aims to work with all of its international students to provide a broad range of services, as well as helping them to settle in the UK and make new friends.

The ISB, run by i-graduate, tracks and compares the decision-making, expectations, perceptions and intentions of international students from application to graduation.

Derby also ranked:

• 2^nd in the UK ISB Benchmark for welcoming international students (overall welcome experience)
• Top 20 in the Global ISB Benchmark group for international student welcome experience  
• 2^nd in the UK ISB Benchmark group for international student learning experience
• Top 10 in the Global ISB Benchmark group for international student learning experience
• Top 10 in the UK Modern University ISB group for living experience
• 2^nd in the UK ISB Benchmark group for accommodation condition
• Top 10 in the Global ISB Benchmark group for accommodation condition
• 3^rd in UK ISB Benchmark group for campus buildings
• Top 20 in the Global ISB benchmark group for campus buildings

Derby’s overall position in the ISB was:

• 2^nd among 15 participating UK modern universities
• 3^rd among 44 participating UK universities
• 10^th in the Global Benchmark group, among 199 participating universities

The ISB survey involved 195,182 international students across 21 countries, including students at 44 institutions in the UK.
