Evaluation of the benefits and challenges of integrated care

Gilburt (2016) comments that the main objective of having an integrated approach to caring for people requires a workforce that is able and, most importantly, willing to work together to provide an integrated service. However, there may be several barriers and challenges to being able to offer a truly integrated service.
