Journalism postgraduate courses

Our postgraduate courses bring together cross disciplinary expertise and knowledge in creative thinking, business, art, heritage, media and journalism. They provide flexibility for you to pick your own modules to focus on your interests and aspirations.

You will benefit from established relationships teaching teams have with media companies, individual journalists, organisations in cultural heritage, festivals, events and exhibitions.

Our Postgraduate courses in Journalism aim to prepare you for a range of opportunities and careers in the creative and cultural industries sectors including being in an ideal position to use your masters as a starting point for continued research.

The Master of Research (MRes) offers a flexible, challenging and inspirational way to develop wide-ranging research and analytical skills and to complete a substantial research project under the supervision of academic experts. You can choose Journalism as the subject pathway for the MRes Social Sciences and Humanities.

Building on my natural curiosity and love of story-writing, this programme gave me the information and abilities I needed to develop into a well-rounded journalist. I also learnt from my fellow students from different ethnic backgrounds, who brought in a variety of experiences, viewpoints, and insightful debates.
