Course description

This 7.5-hour CPD course is designed to provide you will the knowledge and materials to enable you to deliver the Compassionate Communication - Further and Higher Education (CC-FE/HE) programme with your students.

This course draws on our experience of delivering the CC-FE/HE programme to over 1000 students, with evidence demonstrating that the approach improves inclusivity, develops a more compassionate approach to group work, and enables students to become more reflective about their own communication style.

Dr Caroline Harvey
Programme leader

Caroline teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules on our Psychology programmes. She supervises PhD students and is an active researcher. Caroline's research is focused on two broad areas and she leads on research concerning compassion in higher education and also works as part of a team that are interested in the links between nature and wellbeing.

Course author

Professor Frances Maratos is a chartered psychologist and leading expert in affective science. Her ground-breaking research in the field of Compassion in Education, as well as wellbeing, is world renown. She leads provision of our Compassion CPD’s and curriculums at the UoD, is widely published, has excellent grant capture and is a spokesperson for the Global Compassion Coalition.
