Code of conduct for short courses and CPD

Code of conduct

• Use a single account on University of Derby’s short course platform and do not provide false information about yourself
• Do not modify the site or access it in a way that causes slowdown or harm to others
• Do not post content that:
  • encourages illegal activities
  • insults, harasses, or threatens others
  • violates copyright or intellectual property rights or confidentiality
  • contains obscene material
  • harms others
  • advertises or sells a product or service
• Do not reproduce content from your course or other learners unless allowed by the express copyright terms laid out by the instructor (eg Creative Commons)
• Do not share the solutions to assignments with others unless this is encouraged by the instructor
• Do not submit the work of others as your own work or engage in activity that will improve or harm the grades of others
• Respect the privacy of other learners and instructors
• Respect the diversity of opinions and cultures that will be present in your course

While the University of Derby does not actively monitor all activity and content in courses, we reserve the right to remove inappropriate content and take action against users who violate the code of conduct.

If you believe that someone has violated this code of conduct, begin by notifying the instructor/course administrator of the course. If the issue is not addressed to your satisfaction, contact onlineshortcourses@derby.ac.uk with your concerns.

This Code of Conduct is in effect as of 1 February 2017.

We reserve the right to modify it at any time.
