Our Aquatic Research Facility is carrying out work with organisations across the globe to make coral reefs more resilient in the face of man-made afflictions such as pollution and climate change.

When George Papakyritsis found his true calling was becoming a practising therapist, he realised studying our accredited online Psychology BSc (Hons) was his best first step to achieving his goal.

Gilson Timire has been able to develop a more holistic approach to his working methods as a physiotherapist after studying our Ergonomics and Human Factors MSc at the University of Derby Online Learning. Now, he wants to make a real difference in his career and in Zimbabwe. 

Ken Curley was inspired to become a psychotherapist when he saw the “amazing” positive changes counselling brought to people. He has now found his true calling – and he’s continuing to learn and grow in the profession with the help of our University of Derby Online Learning courses.

Online student Mo Aledeh helps patients on their journey to recovery in a hospital psychiatric department in Vienna in Austria. For him, gaining a deeper understanding of his patient’s issues would help him in his role. That’s when he discovered our online counselling courses. He is now studying our Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Approaches (Top-Up) BSC (Hons).

Health psychology experts at the University of Derby have helped improve the treatment of pain – and quality of life – for patients with chronic medical conditions such as haemophilia and sickle cell disease. The work has been carried out by Professor James Elander, Professor David Sheffield, and Andrew Baird.
