I am a reader in intelligent instrumentation. I have extensive experience over many years of undertaking precision measurements, in a wide variety of contexts. I have had many years of industrial experience in instrumentation and control and worked on several successful EPSRC funded projects.

I am actively engaged in industry and research and have strong links with NPL. I have authored high-quality publications in reputable international journals and conferences. I have been successful in attracting external funding.

My current research projects include low power embedded systems, advanced testing and condition monitoring of electric multiple unit trains, wireless cooperative relay networks, power quality, electrical power protection using optical fibres, intelligent optical fibre distributed pressure sensor and distributed optical fibre humidity sensor.
