About

The main aspects of my role are teaching and supporting students within the midwifery programme. This involves delivering lectures, seminars and practical skills sessions to provide students with the knowledge required for the placement element of the course. In addition to this, I support students whilst they are in their placement blocks, alongside their allocated practice supervisors and practice assessors to ensure students are meeting their required proficiencies and being exposed to good learning opportunities.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach on BSc (Hons) Midwifery and also I will be teaching on the upcoming MSc (Pre-registration) Midwifery course. These courses adopt a spiral curriculum to enable students to build on content they learnt in their previous year of study. The modules consist of skills modules, caring for the mother and baby, the professional midwife and clinical practice.

Professional interests

I am passionate about supporting the midwives of the future and providing them with the skills to become competent, confident practitioners. I am currently undertaking a MSc in Reproduction and Development and have a particular interest in women's health and reproductive justice.

Research interests

My current MSc is in Reproduction and Development, with a focus on reducing adverse pregnancy outcomes for women with polycystic ovary syndrome. I am particularly interested in this aspect of women's health.
