I am a Senior Lecturer on the Theatre Arts course.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach performance skills, with a focus on physical approaches to characterisation, as well as the methods of Sanford Meisner.

I teach across the three years of our programme.  In the first year I work with industry professionals from Derby Theatre and beyond, as we introduce our students to the wide range of jobs within the industry.  I also teach Theatre Lab, an exciting first year module, in which we explore creative techniques when devising theatre.  In this, I focus on the use of live foley (creating live sound effects in performance) and puppetry.

I also direct students in performances, and direct our second year students in their main stage productions at Derby Theatre.

• BA (Hons) Drama Therapy, University of Derby
• Master in Ensemble Physical Theatre, Huddersfield University

Experience in industry

• I have worked professionally as an actor touring in small scale educational tours, and mid-scale National tours.  I have also performed Internationally
