About

I am an experienced and creative academic with a strong commercial background, enabling students to gain a real-world perspective in their learning with academic underpinning. I am passionate about knowledge transfer and creating assignments with real impact. I have over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in senior management positions, plus seven years of experience working in global director roles for several entrepreneurial enterprises.

My philosophy of teaching and learning is that all students are unique and have something special within them that they can bring to their education. My role is to assist my students in developing their own potential, so they have the confidence to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, as well as embrace the differences of others. I believe that with dedication, perseverance and hard work, you can achieve anything.

I was awarded the Students Union (Business, Law and Social Sciences) lecturer of the year 2020/21 and 2022/23.

Teaching responsibilities

I currently lead a range of modules in the areas of marketing which runs in the UK and also at our partner colleges in Germany, Greece, Spain, Malaysia and Qatar. I also teach both undergraduate and postgraduate modules and supervise dissertations. In addition, I teach the industry-led marketing executive module where students work on live projects with employers.

Experience in industry

I have over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in healthcare and pharmaceuticals in senior management positions, plus seven years of experience working in global director roles for several entrepreneurial enterprises leading sales and marketing teams in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the United States.

International experience

I have worked in several international director roles during my career leading sales and marketing teams in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the United States. The sales and marketing offices were primarily located in London, Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Jersey and Arkansas. I have also lectured at postgraduate level in Malawi on an MBA program and currently work with our partners located in Qatar, Malaysia and several European colleges including the UK, Germany, Greece and Spain on both under and postgraduate degrees.

Additional interests and activities

I am a passionate, fun and creative family man who enjoys exploring both near and far destinations. I am also very interested in martial arts, religion and conservation. I practice kickboxing and Karate and hold a black belt in Wado Ryu Karate.
