About

Lecturer in Health and Social Care. Working on the Dance and Movement Studies Joint Honours programme with movement and mindfulness and working on the Creative Expressive Therapies programme with establishing the therapeutic relationship and Personal Development Planning.

Teaching responsibilities

I am the subject leader for Dance and Movement Studies and also teach on the Creative Expressive Arts, Health and Wellbeing programme with a focus on developing the 'practitioner'. Additionally, I am currently training to become a Personal Life Coach to further support students through the programme. As a Personal Academic Tutor with an interest in Lifewide learning, I support students to engage in the programme more fully, develop their study skills, and approach their programme with purpose and direction.

I am interested in movement and mindfulness and supporting the notion of being responsible for our own health through proactive engagement in positive mental, emotional and physical practices.

Recent conferences

March 2018 - ECArTE, Nejmegen, Holland, representative for Therapeutic Practice,  the University of Derby.

September 2015 - Shiatsu Society Congress with Mr Haruhiko Masanga, son of Shizuto Masunaga founder of Meridian Shiatsu, generally regarded as the most prolific style in Europe.  This was this international teacher's first visit to the UK.
