About

I am a lecturer in Health Psychology and I possess a Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology. I am chartered with and registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. I teach mainly on the Health Psychology MSc.

Prior to joining the University of Derby, I worked as an independent practitioner and as Principal Psychologist within the Health and Safety Executive. In that time, I applied Health Psychology to Health and Safety via research, training and consultancy with various industry sectors and at national and international levels. My research interest concern the application of behaviour change to Health and Safety and Recovery at work.

Teaching responsibilities

I am module lead for Professional Skills and Learning to Live with Long-Term conditions on the Masters in Health Psychology. I teach on other modules across the programme and to also teach final year undergraduate Psychology students. I endeavour to use my industry experience to ensure teaching is applicable to public and occupational health contexts.
