I also conduct research studies in international early childhood education and services and recently also on the cultural dimensions of play.

Currently, I am a member of the Scientific Advisory Group for the Development of Early Childhood Education in Mexico (MEJOREDU), an acknowledgement of almost 30 years of research in this field. I am also one of the convenors of the "Children and Childhoods" BERA Special Interest Groups.

In the past, I have been an advisor to UNICEF, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Mexican Ministry of Education and other agencies.
