About

I am a plant community ecologist with extensive experience in botany, vegetation survey, and biodiversity conservation. I have led several national and international research projects focusing on plant diversity and conservation. My research has significantly contributed to understanding the flora and vegetation of Southwest Asia, with a particular emphasis on threatened ecosystems. I am an active member of the International Association for Vegetation Science (IAVS), serving on its Global Sponsorship Committee and Council, and have collaborated with leading research institutions worldwide. My work is driven by a strong commitment to bridging scientific research with practical conservation efforts to support the sustainable management of natural habitats.

Teaching responsibilities

I am the module leader for Adaptation to Environment and contribute to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Biology, Zoology, and Environmental Sciences, including the Conservation Biology MSc. My teaching contributions span across several key modules, such as:
