About

I am Professor of Sustainability and Accounting at Derby Business School, University of Derby, with a distinguished track record of translating research into real-world impact across fields such as Corporate Governance, Environmental Disclosure, Climate Finance, Auditing, and Accountability. My research has gained widespread attention, not only in academic circles but also in the general public domain. Notably, one of my recent research papers was featured in over 50 global news outlets, including Forbes, Yahoo News!, The Guardian, and The Telegraph.

I have published extensively in leading journals, including 4 in ABS-4 and 18 in ABS-3, with contributions to the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Business Ethics, Annals of Tourism Research, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Financial Stability, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Journal of Institutional Economics, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and International Review of Financial Analysis. Besides academic research, I possess a wealth of experience in action-oriented policy research with government agencies, NGOs, and think tanks, impacting the formulation of sound financial and environmental policies. I also contribute articles to mainstream media on contemporary issues and create research documentaries to depict reality and disseminate knowledge.

In terms of competitive funding, my current research project I have received numerous research grants from institutions in the UK (including ESRC), Australia, and Japan. Over the course of my career, I have held various leadership roles, including Associate Head of the Department and Faculty-lead for Research-led Knowledge Transfer Activities at De Montfort University. Currently, I lead Sustainability Research within the College of Business, Law, and Social Sciences. Prior to joining Derby Business School, I worked as an Associate Professor at Sheffield University Management School, University of Sheffield. In the wider professional community, I serve various journals as an editorial board member and editor for special issues.
