I am the Senior Technician for Biomedical Science, providing technical and laboratory support for students, lecturers and researchers in the College of Science and Engineering.

Teaching responsibilities

Provides support and demonstrates techniques and instrumentation in Biomedical Science practical classes and laboratory projects.

Membership of professional bodies

Registered Biomedical Scientist on the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)

Qualifications

BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science (Life Sciences) Infection Science - Manchester Metropolitan University

Experience in industry

For 6 Years I worked as a Biomedical Scientist in microbiology in the NHS; I did my training at the Royal Bolton Hospital before working in the Immunology department of the Northern General Hospital and the Microbiology department at King's Mill Hospital.

Additional interests and activities

I am a keen horse rider and regularly compete my horse in Show Jumping and Cross Country competitions.
