About

I joined the University of Derby as a Lecturer in Economics in 2016. Prior to this, I worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Huddersfield. I currently serve as the Programme Leader for the MSc International Business and Finance, overseeing the programme's academic direction, curriculum development and overall delivery to ensure it meets both academic standards and industry relevance.

In addition, I am the Bloomberg Lead for the Business School, where I am responsible for promoting the integration of Bloomberg as a teaching and learning tool.

Research interests

My research spans various sub-fields of Economics, such as International Economics, Environmental Economics and Cultural Economics. Some of my recent works involve topics relating to the growth effects of FDI, remittances and international trade, the role of environmental taxes and the impact of hydraulic fracturing on local communities.

Research projects

• As an Impact Evaluation Consultant, I co-led the assessment of the £1.4 million Innovate 4 Rail project. The Innovate 4 Rail project was a three-year collaboration between the University of Derby, University of Birmingham and Rail Forum Midlands that started in July 2020. The aim of the project was to stimulate and support innovation and drive productivity among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) Rail Sector Supply Chains. The collaboration was funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
