About

I qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner in 2012. During my clinical career in the NHS, I worked in ophthalmology, obstetrics, gynae and urology, oncology and paediatrics. In 2020, I joined Clinical Education and Support Team focusing on developing and facilitating the delivery of undergraduate non-medical programmes across the Trust.

In January 2022, I moved to University of Derby to teach and lead on the online nursing and perioperative practice modules.  Since January 2023, I lead the Perioperative Practice (Top-up) BSc (Hons) programme

My aim is to develop knowledge and practice and support students and colleagues, so all can provide the best for people they interact with during their career.

Teaching responsibilities

I lead the BSc (Hons) Perioperative Practice (Top-up) programme and lead and teach on variety of undergraduate modules including nursing, perioperative practice and operating department practice. I also supervise undergraduate student projects in areas related to healthcare.

In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I act as a Personal Academic Tutor to students, providing wellbeing and pastoral support throughout their academic journey.
