About

As College Head of Internationalisation, I am responsible for the strategic oversight, direction and leadership of the internationalisation agenda at the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences. 

Prior to joining the University of Derby, I spent seven years at Coventry University spanning roles as Lecturer in Finance, Director of the Coventry Business School Financial Trading Floor and finally as Associate Head (International) where I was responsible for leading the international strategy at the School of Economics, Finance and Accounting.

In my various roles, I have worked extensively with Universities across Europe, Asia, North America and Africa and I am particularly keen on using technology to connect students’ learning experiences across the world.

Teaching responsibilities

My teaching expertise over the past years spans Financial Trading and Investments, Corporate Finance, Financial Regulation, Investments and Taxation.

Professional interests

I am particularly interested in the interface between technology and finance education and as a proponent of the use of modern financial technology in education, I have been invited to speak at and participate in a number of educational conferences including the industry led Bloomberg for Education conferences in London and New York.

Research interests

My research interests cover issues around financial market volatility, financial innovation, entrepreneurial finance, contemporary issues in financial markets and financial impacts of central bank communications. I have published work on contemporary issues such as Brexit and my work on the Bank of England's communication has also been featured in the Financial Times.
