About

I am a Lecturer in Forensic Science at the University of Derby. My Post-Secondary Education started with an HND in Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry), a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and an MSc Forensic Science at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I had another MSc in Forensic Ballistics at Cranfield University, United Kingdom. I strive diligently to provide lectures that are interesting and thought-provoking since I have a strong interest in both teaching and research.

Teaching responsibilities

Presently, I am the module leader for 'Foundation in Forensic Science' which deals with forensic investigation and the processes by which forensic scientists analyse evidence, the differences between the roles of crime scene investigators and forensic scientists; the management and processing of crime scenes and the different types of forensic evidence that can be encountered by CSI. In addition to this, I am also involved in teaching and guiding other Forensic Modules of Chemistry, Object Marks, and Miscarriages of Justice for Forensic Science.

Professional interests

My goal is to always provide teaching sessions that assist students in acquiring practical skills as well as soft and technical abilities that are relevant to societal needs. I hope to give effective lectures and practical tasks by combining current topics, pedagogical approaches, and research into my teaching style.

Research interests

My area of research covers Crime Scene Investigation, Digital Forensics, Forensic Ballistics, Disaster Management, Forensic Chemistry and Environmental Toxicology.
