About

I joined the University of Derby as a doctoral student within the School of Human Sciences in September 2019. I'm originally from the Chinese mainland and hold a position as a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science at the Hunan University of Technology in China. I was a professional athlete (ice dancing and dance sport) for ten years. My research interest lies at the intersection of dance and sport with a special focus on pedagogy, course design, and physical health and fitness studies in artistic sport disciplines.

Teaching responsibilities

In China, I have taught across a wide range of subjects within the Artistic Sports field including Dance Performance, Sports Research Skills and Pedagogy in Practice, also involving Physical Rehabilitation, Healthy Dance Practice, and Sport/PE With Health.
