Secondary

On our School Direct route, you’ll spend most of the year as a trainee in one of our teaching school alliances, working alongside experienced colleagues and developing your chosen subject specialism.

You’ll undertake placements in different schools, supported by our mentors and link tutors. You’ll also visit other schools to work with young people from diverse backgrounds.

You will have the option to specialise in Special Educational Needs and Disability, where you’ll focus on a diverse range of topics including SEND policy and legislation, effective inclusive practice, and meeting the challenges of teaching in the SEND sector.

If you already hold a degree:

• PGCE Secondary (School Direct) with Qualified Teacher Status

If you do not have a degree:

• First study an undergraduate degree in the subject you wish to teach.
