About

I have worked at the University of Derby since 2012 and for the last four years I have held the role of Head of Discipline leading successful programmes of initial teacher education (ITE) for the FE and Skills, Secondary and HE sectors. Prior to this, I held a number of roles in both the Secondary and FE sectors, including senior leadership team roles, specialising in 14-19 education. 

Committed and passionate about the development of teachers, I am proud to lead one of the leading providers of ITE for the Secondary and FE and Skills sectors.

Leading a team of experienced teacher educators, I share the vision of the team of fostering new teaching talent through a blend of evidence-informed academic studies and professional practice experiences.

Experience in industry

Before joining the University, I taught in both the Secondary and Further Education sectors for twelve years, including teaching on the University's teacher training programmes in a partner college. Prior to this, I worked in various roles in retail management and for an Independent Training Provider.
