Veronika works within the NHS mental health services, and her study explores how professionals of different disciplines, such as Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work, reach decisions about the allocation of work. 

Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics

Simon is a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics. He primarily teaches biomechanics across all levels of study and contributes towards L5 Research Methods and L6 Independent study. Simon also provides research project supervision to UG and PGT students and doctoral supervision.

Before joining the University in 2019 Jon had a long career in the music industry, working as a sound engineer, primarily in live concert touring. Since joining the University of Derby Jon now teaches on the BSc (Hons) in Sound, Light and Live Event Technology as well as the MSc in Audio Engineering.

Professor Chris Bussell is the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the College of Science and Engineering. Chris's academic field is in human physiology, with particular focus on responses and adaptation to high performance and health outcomes arising through increased participation in physical activity.

Joana Carvalho is a lecturer in Spatial Ecology and Biosciences. Joana's specialist areas include wildlife conservation, behavioural ecology, primatology, species distribution models, spatial analysis, population abundance/density models and scenarios analysis (including climate change and land use/cover change).
